Spotify Considering Purchase of Anghami


Spotify is looking at potentially acquiring MENA-focused rival company Anghami, according to Arabian Business.

Per the report, citing a source, “The idea was that Anghami would go public if Spotify showed interest in an acquisition, so a SPAC was proposed to speed up the takeover”, with the Spotify spokeswoman saying that “We have no news to report regarding a potential acquisition between Spotify and Anghami.”

Middle East and North Africa Focused Anghami is a specialist in Arabic content and claimc to be the first music-streaming platform in the MENA region.
